Kidwelly Sports Day 2017
On Thursday 24th May 2017, Kidwelly Town bowls club were lucky to play a part in the second Kidwelly Primary Schools Sports Day! 130 children from 4 local schools competed in 4 different sports to win a trophy for their school. It was a great event for Kidwelly Bowls to be involved especially given the set up of their Junior Bowls project in April 2017. It gave Kidwelly Bowls the opportunity to take junior bowls to much more children in one go and hopefully in doing so, recruiting a number of young people for the junior bowls running on a Thursday evening. All the children who took part in the junior bowls enjoyed themselves and were able to bring the sport to live by competing in a fun and enjoyable format of the game. A big thank you must go to Dai Morgan who did a fantastic job once again in organising the event and we are thankful for the invitation and opportunity to work with the young sports stars of the future. Also, a big thank you to all who helped run the junior bowls namely, David Kingdon, Bryan Kingdon, Ian Davies, Keith Owens, Alan Evans and a special mention for Eric Davies (Blue Anchor Bowls) who took time out of his day to come down and help us out. We now hope that all those who enjoyed taking part in the junior bowls today will join us for our junior bowls sessions on a Thursday evening 5:30-6:30.
